The first ecological offshore wind farm built without government funding

Ecowende, a joint venture of Eneco and Shell, is the winner of the tender for the permit for the Ecowende wind farm (Hollandse Kust (west), Site VI). This wind farm is being built with an eye for nature.

A human approach to combating energy poverty

In 2022, as everyone knows, energy prices have risen enormously. This has given our Customer Services department a more important role. We do whatever we can to help customers suffering from energy poverty.

Eneco’s goal is to be climate-neutral by 2035. To achieve this, we are committed to accelerating the digital transformation. Think of it as a large orchestra with a wide range of musicians: digital is the conductor who ensures that everyone plays together in perfect harmony

Operating results

Without a doubt, customer-side activities were the focus of attention during this fiscal year, especially for customers facing energy poverty. Good progress was made in the other two strategic areas, assets and integration.

Financial results

The reporting period was marked by the energy crisis. Prices on the energy market were rising at the end of 2021 and this accelerated after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. Consequently, the risks have increased.On balance, solid results were achieved.

To end the situation where the West needs three entire planets to fulfil our needs, people’s energy requirements and energy consumption need to stay within the boundaries of a liveable planet. Our vital staff

After the relief and easing of tensions when the pandemic restrictions were lifted, 2022 brought new challenges for our people. The war in Ukraine and the ensuing energy crisis led to huge workloads at many of our business units and increased aggression towards our employees.
